2007315 - Thanks loads!

Gotta thank you for your many shares of great albums! I've become a total fan of Exotica, thanks to the music I've heard from your blog. I suppose SOMEBODY ought to request a repost of that great 2-disk set, the Exotic Moods of Les Baxter, since it is such a perfect compilation & still out of print. For my personal desires, I'd love it if you reposted Baxter's Ritual Of The Savage and/or Tamboo. Thanks again!

Hi There -
If you have Arthur Lyman's "Hawaiian Sunset vol. 2" - that'd be one I'm eager to hear.

Thanks very much for all your shares - it's great to find so much exotica music to explore. I do use these finds to make my own purchases when titles are available. Cheers!

While I was able to find Gene Rains' "Lotus Land", I was never able to find his "In The Tropics" in time. I also missed out from other blogs at finding a really good copy of the 101 Strings "East Of Suez" album, with only one very poor quality copy showing up over the last couple of years, to download. Until I found your blogspot, it seemed there were only a few major Exotica artists to purchase on CD, and those were mostly compilations of various artists or 'greatest hits' of the most well known musicians. You have really helped to open my ears, in being able to hear so many of these other, almost forgotten, musical talents, as they were recorded to be heard! Some of the CDs I've purchased just don't have anywhere near the same 'warmth' of sound that the albums seem to have. Thank you for shining a light back on these Masters! Thank you for sharing the music!

Re. Spike Jones:

They are individual tracks that I have accumulated over the years from different sources. No cover, but you can make up your own with pics from the Internet.

I don't bother about artwork for my collections because I archive them as mp3 files on CDRs.

In other words, there are hundreds of mp3 files on each CDR.

200748 - Martin Denny - Exotica Today

Posted by Joseph
Here's a strange request for you...or for our loyal readers:

I recently "obtained" a digital copy of Martin Denny's 1967 album entitled "Exotica Today" (Liberty Records LST-7465). It appears as if the album consists of 12 tracks (although most e-bay listings show only 10).

I vaguely remember seeing track 10 (or Side B Band 10) somewhere as being titled "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" and was followed by something in Portuguese maybe....something in parenthesis.

Does anyone know what text was included in parenthesis? I'm trying to properly tag this .mp3 and would appreciate any input and clarification.

Thanks in advance. And thanks to XTABAY for all this hip exotica as of late. I'm in heaven! Great work, thanks for all your time spent updating and meeting requests.

Hi Sandri,
I listened to CD2, about the BEST digitizing I have ever heard. The vocals, from the deepest bass to the highest soprane came through, lifelike, without distortion. The instruments, including the alto flute and piccollo, were completely without distortion. You are truely a master at this.

Hello Xtabay, I have an album to offer rather an a request. I own Sven Libaek's "Soft Lights...and You" on vinyl and have recently ripped it to my computer and just put it on rapidshare today. I dont have my own blog or anything and dont have any way to share it with anybody, so I thought you might be inclined to post it. I havent seen it on any of the other blogs so I'd assume lots of people would like it. I got "Australian Suite" from your site, which I love so I feel like I owe you something in return. The link is here, 12 songs with album artwork included: http://rapidshare.com/files/30386911/Sven_Libaek_-_Soft_Lights...and_You__1979_.zip.html

200769 - Esquivel

Posted by Anonymous
First of all Thank U very much for hosting this site. I learned a lot about Exotica and others most interesting instrumental artists.

What about Esquivel's See it in Sound. The CD has been discontinued recently and fetches high prices at local dealers.

200769 - More Denny?

Posted by Anonymous
First of all, many thanks to quinlan for posting 2 albums of my request list. There both awesome! Thank you! :)

@anonymous: I don't have the "real-stereo" version of Exotica III, but will try to get it.

Maybe someone has a little more of Martin Denny? I'm still searching for MD's "A Taste Of India". I'm quite sure that this has been posted at Xtabay's some time ago...

Thanks in advance,
Herr Anonymous

P.S. Just got "Les Baxter's Teen Drums" a few days ago from a friend. If someones interested, I could upload it. It's very nice, similar to "Skins!". Just let me know...

Would you by any chance have a copy of Herm Saunders'
The Tinkling Piano in the Next Apartment? This is my favorite Easy listening LP, but my copy is pretty cracklely. I would love to have a clean/easy to play(CD) version. Thanks!

Hey BenT!

I've been looking all over for you. I got some wonderful stuff from your erstwhile blog and was very sad that you disappeared.

I can give you Uh-Oh - both sides of the single but I don't have the album.

If you want the single just say the word.

Best regards,
Mel

To complete my former post:
When you click on the link I indicated, you get a window with 3 options
Executer=Install. The software will be installed directly from the internet site.
Enregistrer=Download. You will download the software NOT INSTALLED in the file of your choice on your hard drive . Then you'll have to open this file by double clicking on it and install the software from your hard drive. The advantage of this solution is that if something wrong happens later on you may at any time go back to the this file and reinstall.
Annuler=Cancel.
Good luck!
