NIGEL JOHN ROBIN GEORDIELocal ‘Die-Hard’ rockers TUFF have been laying a little low over the last 8 weeks or so, due to the last minute recall of their bass player, Geordie Leach to iconic Australian rock band, Rose Tattoo.
Geordie was asked to fill in for the Tatts Australian tour with Guns ‘n’ Roses and a number of gigs in Germany.
Well, he’s back and the boys have their first outing for a while at Club Banora on Saturday 8 September.
TUFF is firstly an Australian rock covers band, although they have recorded one or two high-octane original rock songs.
The line-up includes John Carr on lead guitar (Richard Clapton Band, Drifters(USA), Moonstone, Mexicans, Dark Shades), Robin Walsh on drums (James Griffin Band, Boogie Kings, Drifters(USA), Dynamic Hypnotics), Nigel Steele-Boyce lead vocalist (Mexicans, Reds, Dark Shades) and Geordie Leach on bass guitar (Rose Tattoo, Buster Brown, Peter Wells Band, Southern Lightning).
Formed just over 12 months ago, TUFF has established an enthusiastic following from Brisbane to Ballina and has released a live-recorded album that has even been picked up in Canada and Belgium. The huge depth of experience and musicianship is electrifying and contagious and really has punters going off.
TUFF is a good time, fun band that is highly entertaining, appealing to not only ‘Baby Boomers’ but to anyone who loves to have a great time.
The band covers classics from the likes of The Easybeats, Stevie Wright, J.O’K, INXS, Ice House, Doug Parkinson, Choir Boys, AC-DC, Chain , Thorpie, Rose Tattoo, John Paul Young and many more.
In a time of synthesised backing tracks and band-in-a-box entertainment, it is refreshing and exciting to experience live, real musicians who absolutely love what they do and, do it really well…
